About This Organization

Wyoming Food for Thought Project is an independently run, women centered nonprofit that focuses on food justice. What began as an effort to address childhood hunger, has grown into a community focused approach on the issue of hunger in our community with a local, 3-pronged approach: Provide, Educate, and Empower. They exist to provide immediate services to children who suffer from hunger through weekend food bags. little free pantry, and community dinners, Educate their community by demonstrating urban farming, and giving workshops, and empower their community to take back the local food system through community garden plots, seed library, tool library, service learning, workshops, and farmer’s markets. They host overr 200 children in their gardens each year, and serve over 800 local children, providing food, help, and services. Wyoming Food for Thought Project is proud to be a part of the AmeriCorps family of programs hosting both NCCC members and VISTA members. Their goal is to cultivate a community where everyone has direct access to good and healthy food.
