About This Organization

282686_186910308037000_3801687_nThe Urban Oasis Project sees each yard as an urban oasis, which in turn creates the larger urban oasis citywide. The project encourages community members to grow their own food by offering an extensive resource center that includes gardening tips, on-site workshops, and information on organic methods for vegetable gardening in Florida. Urban Oasis Project won the “Best of Miami ‘Award in 2016 for their Upper Eastside Farmers Market at Legion Park. Over 40 vendors are curated to bring a wide selection of local farms and artisanal foods at affordable prices and meeting many niches. Urban Oasis Project has run SNAP doubling programs for five years and helped build a statewide network of markets accepting SNAP.
