About This Organization

Founded in 2014, UMD’s Terp Farm was established through a partnership between the Department of Dining Services, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR), and the campus’ Office of Sustainability. The farm is a four-season, sustainable vegetable and cut-flower farm that is managed largely through engagement with students via academic programs, internships, and employment opportunities. In the first five years of operation, Terp Farm has delivered over 30,000 lbs of fresh produce directly to the various dining venues on campus, including the campus run Green Tidings Food Truck, and the Campus Food Pantry which supports food insecure members of the campus community.
