The Land Stewardship Project (LSP) works practically and through systems changes to enable more successful family farmers to raise crops and livestock on the land in ways that restore and protect the health of the soil and water, and grow healthful food for people to eat. LSP’s Farm Beginnings trains new entrants and farmers wanting to transition in ecological agriculture and business planning. With Hope Community Inc., as well as other partners, we grow community-based food systems and train LSP leaders to help advance racial equity in the food system. LSP engages farmers to adopt continuous living cover needed to restore and protect soil health. They organize farmers, rural and urban members to participate in decisions that shape communities and public policies at the local, state and federal Farm Bill policies to better serve the public good.
