About This Organization

The Land Connection works to grow the local food economy, both on and off the farm, for a healthy, resilient future.

On the farm, we help farmers succeed by providing training ranging from resilient, restorative farming techniques to farm finances.  We also offer our flagship farmer training program, Central Illinois Farm Beginnings.  The Farm Beginnings program has been in operation for 12 years and over 150 people have graduated. Many of those people are still farming, and producing fresh, healthy food for their communities at farmers’ markets, CSAs, on farm sales, and to local restaurants.

Off the farm, we offer our Champaign Farmers’ Market, which provides a mid-week opportunity for the community to support their local farmers.  Our market places great importance on providing food assistance programs to support the nearby low-income and low-access community.  We also offer field days where our customers have the opportunity to see how their food is grown.
