About This Organization

The Howdy Farm at Texas A&M is a coalition between students, faculty and local community members intent on educating themselves and others on the benefits of sustainable farming and gardening. Since its inception in 2009, the project has grown into two gardens as well as a planting field, which they use to conduct research for use across the state of Texas. The farm is available as a resource to students on the Texas A&M Campus to learn about sustainable farming. Among other things, the Howdy Farm contributes to having a sustainable food system by selling their produce back to the Bryan/College Station community, donating their produce to the Brazos Valley Food Bank, and educating students on how to grow their own food at their bimonthly student member meetings.
