Established in 2008, Farmer Veteran Coalition’s network of more than 10,000 veteran members from all 50 states and U.S. Territories are served by mentors in the areas of agricultural production, law, business planning and career counseling, the Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund, and the nationally recognized Homegrown By Heroes label for veteran-grown products. About the Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund

The Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund is our small grant program that provides direct assistance to veterans who are in the early stages of their farming operations. With awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, purchases are made to third-parties on behalf of the veteran for critical items such as breeding livestock, used tractors, greenhouses, irrigation systems and more. Since it was established in 2011, the Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund has awarded more than $1.4 million in small grants.

About the Homegrown By Heroes Label

The Homegrown By Heroes label is an agricultural food label that serves to inform consumers a product was grown or produced by a veteran or current member of the United States Armed Forces. Available to farmers, ranchers, fishermen and value-added producers who served, or are currently serving, the Homegrown By Heroes label gives veterans point-of-sale visibility in the marketplace, providing consumers with a tangible way to support veterans. More than 1,000 veterans in all 50 states plus Puerto Rico have certified their farming operation with the Homegrown By Heroes label combining for more than $50 million in aggregate sales.
