About This Organization

1911914_10153032397043936_7048373979365789146_nThe Big Garden began in 2005 with a goal of creating 12 community gardens over three years. Five years later, the organization had established 26 gardens across the Omaha region, as well as adding a sister project, the Big Rural Garden. The Big Garden is unique nationally both in terms of the large number of sites, and its partnerships with neighborhood-based congregations, schools, and nonprofits. Not to mention, all of the Big Garden sites are located on land owned by a community agency.
