About This Organization

Southwestern Pennsylvania Food Security Partnership-logoThrough its Partnership initiative, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank reduces need by increasing food assistance program participation, supporting community efforts to improve food security and facilitating collaborations between organizations. This past year, they worked with Share Our Strength to deliver melas to children in three hard-to-reach rural communities and hosted a Summer Food best practices conference for 80 partners from 12 counties in Southwestern PA. Additionally, they worked with Allegheny Health Network, the Birmingham Free Clinic, and Gateway Health to host an event for health care professionals and social service providers to discuss best practices for addressing food insecurity in health care settings.
