About This Organization

Founded in 1977 by Annemarie Colbin Ph.D., Natural Gourmet Institute (NGI) has been the leader in health-focused culinary education for nearly 40 years. A professional culinary school located in the Flatiron District in New York City, NGI also offers dynamic enrichment programs – from recreational cooking classes, to in-depth Certificate Programs in topics like Culinary Nutrition, Food Therapy, and Food Entrepreneurship. NGI’s philosophy continues to be rooted in Dr. Colbin’s Seven Principles of Food Selection, which state that food should be: whole, seasonal, local, traditional, balanced, fresh and delicious. Comprehensive vocational culinary training is provided through Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts.
