About This Organization

Midwest Food ConnectionThrough culinary adventures that harness the power of storytelling, song, art, games and in-classroom cooking, the Midwest Food Connection inspires elementary and middle school children to make healthy and responsible food choices. Sponsored by several food co-ops in the Twin Cities, the program sends educators into K-8 classrooms to teach about nutritious, and often local, foods while highlighting the foods’ cultural origins. Lessons are also designed to teach about the benefits of organic agriculture and gardening.
