About This Organization

16805_568133433287998_243474870329984734_nFocus on agriculture in Maine Schools (FARMS) offers hands-on experiences for people of all ages to develop expertise in cooking, gardening, and a passion for local food. The FARMS Farm to School Program lets students learn the life-long skills of how to grow and cook nutritious food, and about the health, environmental, and economical benefits that come from supporting local agriculture.  FARMS conducts classroom and school-wide taste tests where students are exposed to and learn how to cook with a variety of fresh, local, seasonal foods. In the 2012-2013 school year, FARMS conducted over 200 Taste Tests in classrooms.
