About This Organization

376350_309829629038760_106101018_nThe Center for Hunger-Free Communities was established in 2004 as a research, service, and advocacy center of the Drexel University’s School of Public Health. The Center’s work encompasses four key projects; Witnesses to Hunger a program that facilitates participation of mothers who know poverty first-hand in the national dialogue on hunger; Children’s HealthWatch, which links policy to child well-being and development; the Building Wealth and Health Microfinance Demonstration Project that seeks to develop a peer-oriented, asset-building model that helps women break the cycle of poverty; Outreach Services that provides case management support and social services referrals.
