About This Organization

1457708_10152024610841140_1576891516_nIt began in 2004 with a few neighbors searching for a fresh tomato. Now, CitySeed operates a network of farmers markets and a mobile market in New Haven, CT, that provide fresh locally grown food to communities that often lack access to healthy food. In addition to markets, they have also launched their teaching and learning Kitchen at CitySeed for furthering cooking education and celebration. CitySeed’s vision of creating a sustainable economy and community through food led it to be nationally recognized as the “Golden Grocer Hunger Champion” by the USDA in 2007.
